***GREEN LEAF UPDATE***
School starts August 23rd. Please drive carefully and watch for children walking in the streets. The pathway between Green Leaf and the schools is not monitored. For your children's safety, it is recommended that parent's accompany them to school.
Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)
Several individuals from Green Leaf are attending CERT classes. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
Students attend seven (7) weekly classes, given by Alachua County Fire Rescue Department instructors, held at the Emergency Management Building at 1100 SE 27th Street. Training includes the following topics: Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Fire Suppression, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue, Disaster Psychology, and Team Organization CERT and Terrorism

If you have not paid your dues yet, please remember to do so by June 30th. This year’s dues were raised because of the large number of unpaid dues last year.
The Board decided to make the Great American Clean Up and the Green Leaf Spring Festival both bi-annual events. We will be having clean ups in even numbered years (like this one) and the festival in odd years. It isn’t too early to express your interest in volunteering for the planning of next year’s festival!
The HOA always needs volunteers for the Board and Committees, stop by a meeting and see what it is all about.
Thank you for helping to make Green Leaf the best place to live,
Our website now has a bulletin board. We would like to invite all owners and residents to post classifieds and events to share with our community.
